Kungsholms fort has been of great importance to the military of Sweden and it has been manned for over 300 years. The fort has been in the heat a few times, like when the Rssians were in archipelago at the battle of Svensksund in the late 1800 century. It was also a bit worrisome when the Englishmen were cruising around the Baltic sea in the early 1900 century.
It’s been a while since the fort were in its glory days as a strategic defensive fortification, and the activity on the fort has been reduced in comparison. But today the fort is providing us with the opportunity to experience something extraordinary. With its unique rundhamn, fortmuseum and botanic park with plants and trees from all over the world, the fort is a hit for all ages and nationalities. You will go from Fisktorget in Karlskrona with the archipelago boat MF Gåsefjärden and on its way out to the fort you will get a nice sightseeing tour in the archipelago.

Combo ticket: 1/5-28/6 and from 17/8 - 30/9, buy one ticket to Kungsholmen and one ticket to World Heritage Walk in the Old Shipyard and save 40 - 70 sek per person. Both tickets must be bought at the same time, but you can choose diffrent dates for the tours. Kungsholmen will cost 170 sek and the Old Shipyard 130 sek, regular prices are Kungsholmen 190 - 220 sek and Old Shipyard 150 sek
There's a limited amount of people can visit the island each time, so booking in advance is a good idea.
When you book your visit to the fort, every participant will have to give away their full name, person number or pass number and also their nationality. For everyone older than 18 years old, you need to bring along some sort of ID on the trip.
This is a security matter, because Kungsholms Fort is otherwise a restricted military area.
